The new Kindle Paperwhite is now waterproof

Amazon’s best selling Kindle got a meaty upgrade with a new thinner and lighter design. Measuring at 8.18mm, it is the thinnest the thinnest Kindle Paperwhite yet with a flush-front design and a soft back. The device is now IPX8 rated that is designed to withstand accidental water splashes (up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 mins).

The base Kindle Paperwhite comes with 8GB of storage but Amazon will also a 32GB variant with 4G support.

Rest of the Kindle Paperwhite features remain unchanged liked the Whispersync, Goodreads support, X-Ray, Word Wise and Smart Lookup.

The new Kindle Paperwhite will be available from November 14 from Rs. 12,999 for the 8GB Wi-Fi model and Rs. 17,999 for the 32GB variant. Customers can, however, pre-order it today and avail 3 months of Kindle Unlimited subscription and 2-year of extended warranty.
