KaiOS, a developer of the emerging operating system for smart feature phones received investment to the tune on $22M from Google. Additional to the investments, Google and KaiOS will work together to create Goole Assistant, Google Maps, YouTube and Google Search for KaiOS users. These apps will be made entirely using HTML5, Javascript and CSS for KaiOS platform. The funding will be used to fast-track development and deployment of KaiOS enabled devices.
KaiOS works with companies like Reliance Jio, TCL, HMD Global, Micromax, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
