Vivo integrates fingerprint sensor under display

Vivo Under Display

The rumours of fingerprint sensor under a display screen started with Samsung and Apple trying to implement in their flagship phones but it seems Vivo from China will be the first one in the world to have such a tech.

With the help of Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensors tech, Vivo has managed to integrate a fingerprint sensor beneath the display. According to Vivo, it’s Vivo Under Display takes advantage of the ultrasound from the sensor can penetrate on 1.2mm thick OLED display to recognise fingerprint.

Vivo is currently showcasing the technology at MWC Shanghai.
