Right on the money, Google announced a new Chromecast at the event yesterday. Dubbed Chromecast Ultra, the new Chromecast will sell alongside the existing range but adds features like 4K playback, HDR and Dolby Vision support.
Google says, the Chromecast Ultra loads videos 1.8 times faster than other Chromecast devices and includes “major Wi-Fi improvements” and an Ethernet port to support streams from full HD to Ultra HD.
Initially, 4K content from Netflix, Vudu, YouTube and few others will work out of the box but is trying to bring more content providers on board whereas Google’s own Play Movies & TV app will add 4K content later this year.
There’s no information if and when Chromecast Ultra will be available in India but if you’re in the United States, you can buy it from November for $69 from Best Buy, the Google Store, Target, and Walmart.
