Xiaomi in China announced its new flagship phones, the Mi5S and the Mi5S Plus. To start with the successor of Mi5, the Mi5S features a 5.15-inch HD display running on Snapdragon 821 processor. The phone comes in two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage and the other with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. It has UFS 2.0 storage that makes it fast to access data on the phone. This is a 4G VoLTE phone and features ultrasonic fingerprint sensor below the screen. The advantage of this is that the Mi5S scans the finger much faster for quick unlocks. Another highlight of the phone is the ultralight sensitive camera that captures more light than the cameras found on the competition. The phone uses 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor. The front camera is 4-megapixel.
The Mi5s is powered by 3200mAh battery and uses USB Type-C to charge the phone. Like the Mi5, this is also a dual SIM phone and supports quick charge.
The other phone in the series is the Mi5S Plus that also shares a similar hardware to the Mi5S like the Snapdragon 821, 64GB or 128GB storage (UFS 2.0), 4-megapixel front camera, dual SIM, Type-C port and Quick Charging. However, the screen size is different as it sports an HD display of 5.7-inch along with 4GB or 6GB RAM and dual 13-megapixel cameras at the rear. It also features a huge 3800mAh battery.
Currently released only in China, the pricing of Mi5S 3GB/64GB version is 1999 yuan (Rs. 20,000 approx.) and 4GB/128GB is 2299 yuan (Rs. 23,000 approx.).
The Mi5S Plus will be available for 2299 yuan for 4GB/64GB version (Rs.23,000 approx.), and 2599 yuan (Rs.26,000 approx.). The colours available are gray, gold, silver, and rose gold. The first flash sale will take place on September 29th, that is tomorrow.
