In a bid to safeguard its users, Samsung today announced a massive recall of its Galaxy Note7 device. Samsung has put the brakes on the sales of its device in many countries after reports of its phone catching fire due to faulty battery cell. Samsung says there have been 35 cases reported about the battery issue since the start of its sales and have roughly affected 24 devices in one million Galaxy Note7 units.
Samsung is still trying to identify possible affected batteries but wants to play it safe by halting the sales globally.
The move will not only affect Samsung financially as Galaxy Note7 was supposed to be improve their financial earnings for the quarter but also give leeway to other manufacturers, including Apple who is going to unveil the new iPhone next week.
