As expected, OnePlus officially announced the OnePlus 2. The much anticipated smartphone will go on sale on August 11 in multiple countries with a starting price of $329 (Indian pricing below).
The phone is the same that was revealed in the leaks a few hours back and comes with aluminum-magnesium alloy frame and stainless steel accents with an overall weight of just 175g.
OnePlus 2 offers considerable improvements over the original OnePlus One and features 5.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD display with 178-degree of viewing angle, dual SIM card support, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, 3300mAh battery and 64GB of eMMC 5.0 internal memory.
On the camera side, the phone has a 13 megapixel at the back with dual LED flash and f/2.0 aperture and a 5 megapixel wide angle camera on the front.
Other hardware improvements include USB Type-C charging port, a fingerprint sensor and an alert slider “for quick access to custom notification setting.”
OnePlus 2 will be equipped with Oxygen OS – OnePlus’ homegrown OS based on Android 5.1. The new operating system will boast features like on screen gestures, dark mode, the ability to switch between hardware and capacitive buttons and toggle quick settings.
The OnePlus 2 will sell only through invitation from August 11 for Rs. 24,999 for the 64GB version whereas the 16GB with 3GB RAM will go for Rs. 22,999 later this year.
