Motorola today updated its smartphone lineup with three new devices. Adding to its smartphone arsenal are Moto G (3rd gen), Moto X Play and Moto X Style.
The affordable Moto G has got some serious upgrade and the new device is now IPX7-rated, which means the phone can withstand up to 3 feet of fresh water abuse for up to 30 minutes.
Furthermore, the phone supports 4G, including Indian 4G LTE bands, 5-inch HD (720p) display, Snapdragon 410 1.4GHz quad-core processor, a 13 megapixel rear-facing f2.0 lens and a 5 megapixel wide-angle camera. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and promises up to a decent battery life with its 2470mAh battery under the hood.
The phone goes on sale tonight midnight and like rest of the Motorola devices, the phone will up for sale on Flipkart along with some launch offers as well as free data and Wynk Plus subscription from Airtel.
Moto G (3rd gen) is priced at Rs. 11,999 for 8GB ROM/1GB RAM and Rs. 12,999 for 16GB ROM/2GB RAM variant.
The Moto X Play goes for the battery loving crowd with its up to 48 hours of battery life. The phone has a water-repellent design and comes with attractive Motorola Shell or Flip Shells.
Specifications-wise, the Moto X Play is powered by Snapdragon 615 1.7GHz hexa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal memory and Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard with minimal customisations. The phone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, LTE support, microSD card slot, 21 megapixel main camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, and 3630mAh battery.
Motorola says the phone will be available in August in Europe, Latin America and Canada but will skip the US launch.
To not make the Americans feel out of the Moto party, Motorola will launch Moto X Style. Although the device will be known as Moto X Pure Edition in the United States, the phone will work with any carrier in the US, thanks to the integration of universal banding. Moreover, the phone will run Android 5.1 without any clutter or bloatware and packs in top of the line hardware like a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 1.8GHz hexa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage with microSD card slot, 21 megapixel main camera with 5 megapixel on the front, 3000mAh battery and support for heavy customisation through Moto Maker.
The phone will be available sometime in September in Europe, Latin America and North America whereas Asia Pacific including India and China will get it later this year. The Moto X Style/Play will sell for $399.99 in the United States.
