Today’s a sad day for gamers. Nintendo has confirmed that its president, Satoru Iwata passed away on Saturday due to a bile duct growth. He was 55.
Iwata had to skip E3 this year on account of his ongoing treatment and was advised by his doctors “not to travel overseas.”
During his tenure, Nintendo announced a lot of game changing devices, most notably, the DS lineup of portable consoles and Wii.
Back in the day, Iwata was also responsible for games like Kirby and Super Smash Bros.
