Amazon takes on the Chromecast with Fire TV Stick

Kindle Fire TV Stick

Chromecast has been a runaway success, mainly due to the device’s ease of use and price. Amazon is now attempting to steal some of its thunder by announcing a superior device at roughly the same price. At $39, Fire TV Stick is designed similarly to Chromecast but packs in a dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, dual-band dual-antenna Wi-Fi and a remote control.

The Fire TV Stick will take advantage of Amazon’s vast movie library and can even mirror Fire devices or smartphones and tablets that have Miracast.

The Fire TV Stick will launch in the US on November 19 for $39 but Amazon Prime users can grab the device for two days at a special price of $19.
