Samsung is continuing its Galaxy World Tour and the Korean giant today made a stop in India to unveil the Galaxy Note 4 and the Gear S smartwatch. Samsung’s innovative Galaxy Note Edge was nowhere to be seen but Samsung did confirm to bring it with no specific timeline. Nevertheless, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note phone will go on sale from the 17th, which ironically is the same day as iPhone 6 / 6 Plus for Rs. 58,300. The phone’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM and will be one of the first in line from Samsung’s stable to get Android L update.
Other specs include a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display, 32GB internal memory with microSD card slot, 16 megapixel rear-facing camera with Smart OIS, 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac and 3220mAh battery with Fast Charging. Galaxy Note 4 also features myriad of sensors like proximity, barometer, Finger Scanner, UV, Heart Rate Monitoring, improved S Pen input with pressure sensitivity, Air Command and Smart Select.
Samsung has teamed up with Vodafone to provide free data to users for the first two months.
Gear S, on the other hand is the standalone smartwatch that comes with a SIM card slot to support 3G connectivity. The smartwatch runs Samsung’s Tizen wearable platform, is IP67 certified to protect it from water and dust and is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB RAM. Additionally, the smartwatch comes with Bluetooth, GPS, 4GB internal memory, Heart-rate sensor, UV Sensor, Barometer, 300mAh battery that will give about 2 days of battery life, S Voice, Power Saving Mode and more.
The Gear S will be on sale for Rs. 28,900.
