UPDATE 2: Apple India has slyly changed the date to October 17 on their website.

UPDATE: Apple will release the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India on September 26.

Apple today expanded its iPhone lineup with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices. Clad in an unibody enclosure of anodized aluminium, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are designed to be the thinnest iPhone designs at 6.9mm and 7.1mm respectively.

The phones are equipped with Apple’s latest generation A8 chip with second generation 64-bit desktop-class architecture, resulting in better performance with improved battery life. Both models include the M8 motion coprocessor that enables health and fitness application by gathering motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and barometer; feature an advanced iSight 8 megapixel HD camera that supports Focus Pixels for faster autofocus and optical image stabilization technology. Additionally the camera can record videos with faster frame rates up to 60fps for 1080p video and 240fps for slo-mo, as well as continuous autofocus, cinematic video stabilization and time-lapse video while the 1.2 megapixel FaceTime HD camera is able to capture over 80 percent more light with a new sensor, larger f/2.2 aperture and advanced new features including burst mode and HDR video.

Rounding up the specs sheet is the LTE support up to 150Mbps with 20 LTE bands support, Wi-Fi calling, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, support for Apple Pay payment service through NFC, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and up to 14 hours of battery on the iPhone 6 and 24 hours on iPhone 6 Plus.
