Sony also announced a major firmware update that will hit the PS4 later this fall. The v2.00 will include Share Play, which Sony touts as a “virtual couch” that enables players to create an online local co-op by allowing to invite a friend to join a game. Sony says the feature is first of its kind and it’s like your friend and you “were together in the same room.”
With Share Play users can play against their friends even if they don’t own the game and even assist in a game.
The v2.00 update will also have broadcast and video sharing features, dedicated app support for YouTube, What’s New for enhanced real-time activity and a real name search function.
