Nokia today announced a product advisory note against the use of AC-300 charger bundled with Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet in select European countries.
Although there hasn’t been any reported incidents, Nokia strongly advises not to use the charger to consumers who bought the Lumia 2520 in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Switzerland and UK and travel charger accessory in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, UK and the US.
Nokia says about 30,000 chargers are affected and was identified after an internal quality control check that in “certain conditions, the plastic cover of the charger’s exchangeable plug could come loose and separate. If loose and separated, certain internal components pose a hazard of an electric shock if touched while the plug remains in a live socket.”
Nokia isn’t offering a replacement yet but according to the dedicated page put up by the company, they are “working with urgency to minimize the inconvenience.”
For the time being, Nokia has stalled the sales of the Lumia 2520 in the affected markets.
