Whatsapp arrives on Nokia Asha 501

The biggest bane when we had reviewed the Asha 501 was the absence of Whatsapp. Now Nokia has confirmed that the ubiquitous messenger service has arrived by way of a software update.

Starting today, users will receive the app through a software update along with other improvements like “smarter camera experience” with swipe and one-touch social sharing and improved Fastlane.

WhatsApp currently has over 350 million monthly active users and about 250,000 users per day register for the service using Nokia devices.
