Apple details Mac Pro, starts from Rs. 2.30 lakhs

Remember the bin-shaped Mac Pro Apple showed a few months back? Well, Apple has today shed more details on the device. The Mac Pro will be available in December with a price starting from Rs. 2,29,900. The new minimalistic Mac Pro features the latest Intel Xeon processors up to 12 cores, six Thunderbolt 2 ports, 2 workstation-class AMD FirePro GPUs with up to 12GB of video memory, PCIe-based flash storage for speeds of up to 1.2GBps and faster 1866MHz DDR3 RAM. The Mac Pro will run Mavericks operating system, which Apple offered for free to existing Mac OS users.

The base Mac Pro at Rs. 2,29,900 includes a 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM each, 12GB of memory and 256GB of PCIe-based SSD while the Rs. 2,99,900 Mac Pro features a 3.5 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of VRAM each, 16GB of memory, 256GB of PCIe-based SSD.
