WD ships the world’s thinnest 1TB HDDs

The race for the slimmest hard drive with huge storage capacity has spiced up with WD’s announcement of the 1TB WD Blue HDD. The WD Blue takes the crown to be the world’s slimmest HDD at 7mm to offer 1TB compared to Seagate’s 5mm drive announced yesterday that maxes at 500GB.

Apart from the storage, the WD drive is equipped with ShockGuard that protects the drive from accidental shocks, WhisperDrive that enables quieter performance, StableTrac for improved performance.

The 1TB 2.5-inch WD Blue now sells for $139.99.
