HTC today confirmed to journalists in Taiwan that next-generation Butterfly will arrive later this year. Ben Ho, CMO, HTC said their first device with full HD display was designed for Japan and was launched later in select markets but the new Butterfly device will cater to most markets.
Mr. Ho did not divulge any more details on the upcoming device but did confirm that HTC is not looking to change the Butterfly name.
While HTC Butterfly has got a mediocre response due to its high price in the Indian market, the phone has received a good response in Japan where the device topped as the best seller for a week in December and faced some shortage in Taiwan.
