Google’s next step towards internet domination is the introduction of Google Fiber. With Google Fiber, users will be able to enjoy high-speed internet up to 1Gb/s and will be rolled out initially in Kansas City. There are three tiers for consumers to choose from with the starting tier for free.
Google guarantees free internet for the first 7 years where users will get speeds up to 5Mb/s for download and 1Mb/s for upload. Users will also have to pay a one time $300 construction fee that is inclusive of the network box.
Moving up the tier is the $70/month package. For the asking price, users will get speeds up to 1Gb/s along with the network box and 1TB storage on Google Drive. $300 construction fee is waived on this plan.
The top package option goes for $120/month that gives access to number of TV channels, includes a Nexus 7 tablet, network box with 2TB of DVR storage and 1TB Google Drive storage. This plan also waives the $300 construction fee.
Another important thing to note is that all plans have no data cap, which means you can download or upload as much as you like.
Interested consumers in Kansas City can head over to the website to pre-register themselves.
