Apple has confirmed to buy fingerprint sensor chip maker, AuthenTec Inc. iPhone maker will buy the company for $8 per share with the deal valued at $356 million. AuthenTec develops security solutions, fingerprint sensor and NFC chips.
AuthenTec’s current list of customers includes Lenovo, Dell and most importantly, Samsung who recently announced to adopt AuthenTec’s VPN security solution for Galaxy devices. Samsung and Apple are at a multinational patent war.
