Microsoft Windows 8 Pro Upgrade will cost just $40

Microsoft wants most Windows users to upgrade to Windows 8 and going by the release of the upgrade pricing, they might as well. Users running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 will be eligible to upgrade to the latest Windows 8 Pro OS for just $39.99. If you prefer a DVD, the same upgrade will cost $69.99.

Users on Windows 7 will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro and keep all the personal files, settings and apps. However, if you’re upgrading from Windows Vista, you’ll be able to take Windows settings and personal files to the new OS and personal files only in case of upgrading from Windows XP.

Do note, this is a limited time promotion and will be available till January 31, 2013.
