SanDisk Extreme SSDs come to India

SanDisk has launched its Extreme line of SSDs in the Indian market. Touted to be 10 times faster than a 7,200RPM HDD, the SanDisk Extreme SSD delivers up to 83,000 of maximum random write Input-Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and up to 44,000 random read IOPS achieving a sequential read/write speeds of 550/520 megabytes per second.

Additionally, the drive consumes 30 percent less power and is more reliable thanks to no moving parts in the SSD.

SanDisk has priced the 120GB and 240GB SSDs at Rs. 18,049 and Rs. 32,249 respectively and will release a 480GB variant later this year for Rs. 72,449.
