Sony has expanded its Blu-ray offerings with two 3D-enabled Home Theatre Systems and standalone Blu-ray player in India. Sony unveiled BDV-E980 and BDV-E880 Home Theatre Systems that claims to bring cinema-like audio quality to the living room. Both systems boast tall vertical speakers but the number of speakers vary, which is four in case of E980 and two for E880.
In addition to playing 3D-enabled content, the systems are equipped with wireless functionality, 2 HDMI ports and wide variety of multimedia formats like BD, DVD, CD, AVCHD, Xvid HD,JPEG, MP3, MKV and AVI.
Consumers who only want to watch high-definition content on their HDTVs, Sony has also launched BDP-S380 that outputs 1080p content via HDMI supporting formats like BD, DVD, CD, AVCHD, Xvid HD, JPEG, MP3, MKV and AVI. The player has two USB ports and is Wi-Fi ready, which means users need to buy an additional Wi-Fi accessory.
The E980 and E880 Home Theatre Systems are priced at Rs. 39,990 and Rs. 29,990 respectively whereas the standalone Blu-ray player goes for Rs. 8,990.
