Nokia has officially announced its first ever 1GHz phone running Symbian OS. Dubbed as Nokia 500 and unlike what we had expected, it is a mid-range phone. In addition to the speedy 1GHz processor, the phone features Symbian Anna OS, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 640×360 resolution support, 5MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, 2GB internal storage, microSD card slot and weighs just 93 grams, making it the lightest Symbian^3 phone.
The phone is estimated to give a talk time of 5-7 hours with standby of 450+ hours. Additionally, it will have an option of changeable colored battery covers.
Expect the phone this quarter for 150 euros before subsidies and taxes.
