Samsung’s executive, Lee Young-hee confirmed in a recent earnings call that the 2 million Galaxy Tabs sales figure did not refer to the sales to the consumers. In fact, these numbers belong to the sales to its distributors, retailers and cellular operators.
However, when prodded about the sell-in figures (sold to consumers) by an analyst the executive turned down to give the actual numbers but did say that it “wasn’t as fast as they expected” and turned up “quite OK.”
The executive however, was optimistic about the tablet market in 2011, which is one of the reasons why Samsung will launch a range of devices to complement its Galaxy Tab.
