After countless rumors, Research in Motion has finally unveiled its first Blackberry tablet to the world. It’s called as the Blackberry PlayBook and despite its playful name, the tablet is touted as the best professional-grade tablet.
Blackberry PlayBook boasts a powerful specs sheet that pips other tablets in the market. It has a 7-inch LCD screen with WSVGA resolution (1024×600) and features a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor along with 1GB RAM, dual HD cameras – 3MP front facing and 5MP rear that support 1080p HD video recording, HDMI-out, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, support for Adobe Flash 10.1, Adobe AIR, HTML5 and OpenGL.
The PlayBook runs on Blackberry Tablet OS developed by RIM’s recently acquired QNX on its Neutrino microkernel architecture.
For users with a Blackberry phone, RIM has confirmed that the PlayBook can be synced with the phone via Bluetooth that will allow users to view their email, BBM, calendar and more.
