As we had expected, Samsung has unwrapped Galaxy Beam (I8520) in Singapore, the world’s first smartphone with built-in pico projector. Users can use the projector to project multimedia content from their phones from 5- to 50-inches in size.
Galaxy Beam runs Android 2.1 and features 3G support, a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen (WVGA), TouchWiz UI 3.0, Social Hub, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Allshare (DLNA), 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash, front facing VGA camera, GPS and 1800mAh battery. The official spec sheet does not mention the processor clock speed but the last time we heard it had an 800MHz processor.
StarHub will be the first carrier to sell the device from July 17 but if you’re interested in getting a hands on first, StarHub will showcase the device in select stores from July 10. As for the price, it goes from free to SG$398, depending on the plan.
