Amazon announces Kindle app for Android

After bring the Kindle application for iPhone OS, PC, Mac and Blackberry, Amazon today announced the app for Android platform. Similar to the Kindle app on other platforms, this Android-specific app brings the liberty to buy from over 5,400,000 books from the Kindle store, sync books with Whispersync so that the user can read the same book on different devices anytime and an intuitive UI.

The app will be released in summer but interested users can sign up to be notified when the app will be available.
