If Digitimes’ new report is to be believed who cites “sources from notebook players”, Acer is planning to launch something unique and revolutionary. Apparently, Acer will release an ultra-thin notebook that will feature a touch keyboard and will have a frameless design as the glass substrate of the display panel will be used as a notebook lid.
Acer will most likely use reinforced glass from Corning that will be imprinted with colors directly on the back side of the panel. Such a design can reduce the overall thickness as well as cost claims Digitimes.
