Motorola MILESTONE for Europe is official, gets multi-touch display

November 2, 2009 By Kunal Gangar 3 Comments

Motorola MILESTONE

Well, that was quick. Motorola has unwrapped the GSM variant of DROID and as we all know, calls it MILESTONE. Interestingly, MILESTONE has got what DROID has lacked – a multi-touch display that will support for pinch, zoom gestures. It won’t have Google’s Navigation App because of the US restriction but expect it to get it once Google expands to other territories. For now, the European version will be bundled with Moto’s MOTONAV trial.

Other features remain the same: 3.7-inch wide touchscreen display, 5MP camera with dual-LED flash, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and microSD card slot.

Italy and Germany will be the first European countries to get it with the rumored price of Euros 404.

Awesome info here. I have tried and tested both phones, although not side by side. My immediate response was ‘Is Motorola and Google afraid of a lawsuit from Apple in terms of Multi touch’? I’d love that feature on this phone.

I love the functionaility of the Milestone though, and the screen is utterly gorgeous. One other thing that I liked was the ‘lip’ at the bottom of the Milestone which I found not an intrusion, more a welcome step to stabability when sliding out that generously sized QWERTY keypad.

I think Android will dominate the smart phone market in 2010 – with the HTC Bravo ‘Google Phone’ coming out with its 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

    Thank you for the images
