Nvidia unveiled a completely new CUDA GPU architecture at the company’s first GPU Technology Conference. Codenamed as Fermi, it will become the base of all the Nvidia GPUs coming from GeForce, Quadro and Tesla families. Fermi boasts over 512 CUDA cores and over 3 billion transistors that enables it to give supercomputer like performance incurring very less cost and power. Fermi also supports technologies like Parallel DataCache, GigaThread engine and ECC.
