CSR Inc. the parent company of SiRF Technology Holdings today revealed the GSD4t GPS receiver that uses the new SiRFstarIV architecture. The SiRFstarIV coupled with SiRFaware allows the GPS receiver to locate the place quickly without having to compromise on mobile device’s battery life.
SiRFstarIV edge over others is its capability to maintain “better-than-hot-start” conditions with SiRFaware. The technology enables quick location fix with or without network aid and consuming between 0.05-0.5mA of current.
The GSD4t based on this architecture consumes less than two and a half times of what SiRFstarIII presently consumes and integrates active jammer that blocks interferences from other radios like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc.
