Camcorders were not the only ones to be launched today. Samsung unwrapped two point-and-shoot digital cameras in the US and one in UK. The SL720 and SL502 will make way through US retail channels in August and both carry a 12.2MP sensor with 5X optical zoom. The other common features include face recognition (up to 20 faces), beauty shot, smile shot, blink detection and photo style selector.
However, the features that differentiate them are its lens, video recording. SL720 boasts a 28mm wide-angle lens, 3-inch LCD, dual image stabilization and able to record videos in 720p resolution whereas SL502 has a standard 35mm lens, 2.7-inch LCD, digital image stabilization and VGA resolution video recording.
The SL720 will retail for $299.99 and SL502 for $149.99.
On the other hand, an entry level ES17 compact snapper showed its face in UK. It is also a 12MP shooter and similar in features to SL502 except the 3x optical zoom. The camera will be available in different hues for £89 ($145).
