Microsoft will be launching a free anti-virus application replacing its unsuccessful paid security suite, Live OneCare. The software code-named as Morro has been taken from Brazil’s Morro de Sao Paolo beach and will be launched in public beta as a download.
Though analysts and investors are keeping a close eye on how the free service will affect paid security solutions in the market, Morro is said to be a basic anti-virus app for fighting viruses, spyware, trojans etc. still having a market for the paid solutions for consumers seeking complete protection.
Microsoft has not revealed the exact release date of the beta but it will be out soon.
