Saxon Innovations from Tyler, Texas has shouted out loud that their owned patent has been violated by gadget importing companies which include the likes of Nokia, HTC, Palm, Panasonic and RIM. The investigation is in the process, and if the International Trade Commission (ITC) finds the complaint legitimate, companies could be banned from importing devices into US.
The patents violated were bought by Saxon in July 2007 from AMD. It included some patents like keypad monitor with keypad activity based activation and device and method for inter-processor communication using mailboxes owned by processor devices.
The claimant is vying to ban Nokia’s N73, N95 handsets along with RIM’s Blackberry 8100 Pearl and Palm Treo 700p.
The outcome (if its true) will be pretty obvious which most of us know – out of court settlement and a fat cheque to survive in this economy.
