Boston Power’s three year relationship with HP proves out to be fruitful for them. They have announced that HP will soon be taking up their long lasting Sonata Li-ion battery for laptops and sell it under the Enviro brand. Enviro battery’s claim to fame is that it is more sustainable than the conventional laptop batteries and offers ‘new-like’ performance even after some 1000 charges. Three years down the line and these batteries are said to keep 80 percent of their initial charge.
Enviro is also environment-friendly because it does not use PVC plastic nor harmful metals like cadmium, arsenic or mercury. Also, the battery’s easy recyclability is an added bonus.
HP will be selling Enviro batteries for just $20 or $30 premium than the current ones and will come with a three-year warranty. Some HP laptops will have Enviro as the default battery.
