Dell’s strategy to woo customers looking for a pocket friendly notebook might just work. The Vostro A860 and Vostro A840 makes an entry today in its not so appealing black colored shell. Both the notebooks run the same specification and the only difference you’d expect is the screen size. The A860 comes with a 15.6-inch HD ready LCD while A840 has a 14.1-inch widescreen XGA LCD.
Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processors act as the brain while the included 1GB RAM can be jacked up for faster performance. HDD support goes up to 160GB for A860 and 120GB for A840, DVD combo or DVD burner fill the optical department and the integral connectivity options like Wi-Fi, LAN and an optional Bluetooth are also included. Regarding the OS, user can either opt for Ubuntu Linux loaded with an Office Suite or Windows Vista.
A840 will come in late August which is now and A860 will be retailing in early September. Price is note revealed because of the different price tag in different regions.
