Yeah, flipping over would be bad. Not to mention pushing it (no friction) out of the magnetic field or through the windows.

Probably not made with constant magnets. The base might be, but the underfloor installation (I’m assuming it’s under the floor)would be an electomagnet, with circuitry that monitors the base position and adjusts the field strength accordingly. This would prevent crushing if the base flipped over (other than the weight of the bed) and stop the base from floating out the window.

Ummmm . . . Has anyone done the maths ? The magnets would have to be the kind of strength that run MRI machines and more ( ummmm . . . say, x 10 > 100 ).
Could it be that all that actually exists are some computer renderings ( i.e. ‘artists impressions’ of ‘what it might look like if it ever could be built’ – like the one above ) and a fifth-scale model ( presumably hovers 8cm – i.e. feasible ).
I’m not sure about the magnets, but the power of the press-release should never be underestimated.
It can’t be good to spend 1/2 your life immersed in such a strong EM field.
