Wall Street Journal is citing “people familiar with the matter” confirming the Windows Mobile 7 rumor lurking for quite some time. At the MWC next week, Microsoft will finally show off the next-generation of Windows Mobile.
The report does not specify the probable features but claims to have Zune-like UI specifically made for “touch-sensing screens”.

We were talking about a power packed Nokia N8 phone a few hours back but now another Nokia phone has cropped up online claiming to be Nokia N98. Garmin-Asus had promised and they’ve delivered. Their first Android device has been unveiled and will be showcased at the MWC that begins from next week.

UPDATE: Opera claims Mini for iPhone is up to six times faster than iPhone’s Safari and consumes 10 times less data. Another interesting thing is that Opera hasn’t submitted the browser to the App Store, which means the chances of using Opera on iPhone is totally on the mercy of Apple’s approval (that seems unlikely!). Sure, we’d heard ‘WinMo 7 at MWC’ talks from Digitimes and from a MS exec before but now CNET has chimed in claiming more than unveiling of the OS. In addition to show a demo of WinMo 7 at the show, sources tell them, MS is looking to finalize the code by summer for devices [...]

 
Here’s an interesting tidbit to get you, Microsoft fanboys, excited. Zune.net scheduled maintenance came out with an update to the Zune software (v4.2.202.0) and it’s got references of Zune Phone. The reference was found in software’s .inf file that lists all the compatible devices with their hardware IDs.
