Chinese phone makers have squeezed the entry-level market while the top-end market is slipping off Samsung’s hands. This means it’s natural for Samsung to target the yet-to-be untapped mid-range segment. Samsung recently announced the Galaxy E and Galaxy A series and expanding its A series is Galaxy A7. This will be the top-of-the-line Galaxy A series device but will still be below Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy Note range.
Nevertheless, the Galaxy A7 is more about the design than the hardware and is the slimmest Samsung phone at 6.83mm. The phone features a metal unibody design and packs in some decent hardware like a Snapdragon or Exynos octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, LTE or 3G and Dual SIM support, 16GB internal memory, microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB, Ultra Power Saving Mode, 2600mAh battery.
The phone’s camera duty is handled by a 13 megapixel sensor at the back and a 5 megapixel on the front with support for Ultra Wide Shot and Auto Selfie.
There’s no word on the availability but Samsung plans to make it available in “selective” markets in White, Black and Gold colours.
