Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Active has been launched in the American market. The latest Galaxy S5 variant takes majority of the features from the original phone and adds some of the new ones. In addition to the IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, the new Galaxy S5 Active for AT&T also adheres to the US Mil-STD 810G specification.
The new Galaxy S5 removes the fingerprint scanner, one of the selling points in the Galaxy S5 but adds a convenience key for Activity Zone app that gives quick access to barometer, compass, flashlight and more. Additionally, the phone runs Android 4.4 and comes with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display (Full HD), 2GB RAM, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 16 megapixel camera with front-facing 2 megapixel camera, 16GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 2800mAh battery and heart rate sensor.
The phone is now available on AT&T for $199.99 on 2-year contract in colour options of Camo Green, Ruby Red, Titanium Gray.
