At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore confirmed that a new Windows 8.1 update will arrive to improve OS performance on non-touch devices. The update is scheduled to arrive in spring this year and will add features like title bar at the top of modern interface apps, power/search buttons in the Windows Start Screen, easy launching and switching of apps through the Windows 8.1 taskbar and a new mouse UI for closing apps.
The Verge also reports that Microsoft will also lower the hardware requirement for OEMs to a minimum of 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
