Sony owned Microsoft at E3 2013 because of two simple reasons – PS4 didn’t have a mandatory online check every 24 hours and put no limitation on sharing or trading of games. Microsoft relentlessly tried to defend their stand a number of times but has finally succumbed to the gamers’ demands. Microsoft has confirmed that a user won’t require an internet connection to play offline Xbox One games. User will have to set it up once and then they can play the game without having to connect to the internet again.
Users will also be able to trade-in, sell, lend or gift their game discs.
However, Xbox One users will have to adhere to some changes due to the new policy. For instance, downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold and disc based games will require the disc to be in the tray.
