Microsoft has been predominantly a software company that relies on its hardware partners. But that changed when the company produced its own Surface tablet and now if Wall Street Journal’s sources are to be believed, Microsoft will adopt a similar strategy for its Windows Phone 8 devices as well.
Apparently, Microsoft is currently testing a smartphone design with its Asian parts suppliers and will have a display screen size between 4- and 5-inches. However, there is a bit of uncertainty if the product will reach mass production like the Surface tablet.
Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8 OS is currently being sold on devices manufactured by HTC, Nokia and Samsung.
