BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 now available for download

RIM has released a new OS update for its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The OS now stands at version 2.1 and packs in some new and improved features like updated BlackBerry Bridge that now allows to send SMS when connected to the BlackBerry smartphone; portrait support for email, contact and calendar gets an inclusion; improved Android app support with multi-window apps, camera support and in-app purchases.

The update is available for the Wi-Fi-only PlayBook from today whereas the 4G LTE variant will receive it by next month.
