Apple unwrapped a new 15-inch Macbook Pro today featuring Retina Display. The new MBP’s display supports a resolution of 2880×1800 pixels, which is about 3 million pixels more than a 1280×1080 device and uses an IPS panel that boasts a 178 degree viewing angle along with 75 percent less reflection and 29 percent improved contrast. Apart from the display, the notebook is configured with Intel’s third-gen Core i7 quad-core chip, Nvidia GeForce GT 650M GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 768GB SSD and variety of connectivity options like two Thunderbolt ports, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port and other features like FaceTime HD camera, multi-touch trackpad, dual-mic, 3-stream Wi-Fi, thinner MagSafe 2 power port and a battery life of up to 7 hours.
Apple says OS X Lion and apps like iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, Aperture and Final Cut Pro X have been updated to support the new MacBook Pro with Retina display.
The basic 15-inch Macbook Pro with Retina Display will start from Rs. 152,900 and will go up to Rs. 192,900 for the highest model. Further upgrades of CPU, RAM and SSD will cost extra.
