Samsung has quietly announced the much awaited Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.0 update for its bestselling Galaxy S II phone. The update will first be available in regions of Poland, Hungary, Sweden & South Korea and will be gradually rolled to other regions.
The ICS upgrade will bring some nifty additions like Face Unlock, Snapshot to take pictures while recording video, improved photo editor and more.
Meanwhile, users of Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1 can expect the Android 4.0 in the coming weeks.
Samsung also confirmed to release the Android 2.3 update for older devices like Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab 7, Galaxy S Plus, Galaxy SCL, Galaxy W, Galaxy Hoppin, Galaxy and M Style. Galaxy S will in fact get a Value Pack upgrade that will bring Android 4.0-like features like Face Unlock, Snapshot, Photo Editor etc.
