The wait is over. Google in collaboration with Samsung has announced the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running Galaxy Nexus smartphone, which could be termed as a worthy upgrade from the previous Nexus device, Nexus S.
Galaxy Nexus boasts a pure Google experience that does not have any UI customizations from Samsung and comes with some meaty hardware like 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display (1280×720), 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM.
There have been other improvements as well with the 5MP camera supporting full HD video recording support and zero lag feature, dual-band Wi-Fi to avoid interferences with other wireless devices, NFC content sharing with Android Beam, Face Unlock and more.
Rounding up the hardware set are Bluetooth 3.0, 16 or 32GB internal memory with no expansion slot, Barometer and 1750mAh battery.
Google hasn’t revealed the pricing buy will launch the device globally starting November.
