Nokia at an event in Hong Kong announced the next version of Symbian OS. Symbian Belle will take over from Symbian Anna later this year and will bring lots of new features and UI improvements. As evident from the screenshots, Belle has been made to be more touch-friendly and will sport subtle UI improvements like free-form resizable widgets, informative lock screen and improved status bar that notifies users with incoming message, missed calls etc.
Symbian Belle will support business apps like Microsoft Lync and support for NFC-enabled devices allowing users to share images, connect to accessories with just a tap.
Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01, X7, E6 and 500 are expected to receive the Belle update by end of this year.
