The October launch rumored a few days back for PlayStation Vita has been squashed by Sony. Sony’s Kazuo Hirai has confirmed that the PlayStation Vita’s “end of 2011” launch will only be applicable for Japan. The new handheld will be launched in Japan this year whereas UK and US will get it next year, missing the very important holiday season.
Also, when asked if Sony will follow Nintendo to cut the price of their upcoming console, Hirai denied it saying PS Vita is power packed and “there is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price.”
